在濕式磁選作業中，若要求獲得純凈的磁性礦物，通常選用順流型（適用小于6毫米）；若要求zui大限度地回收磁選礦物，則選用逆流型（適用小于0.8毫米）；當藥兼顧磁性礦物的品位和回收率時，以選用半逆流（適用小于1毫米）,磁場強度由100高斯到6800高斯之間。
